One place I go a lot is etiquettehell.com. Today the commentroversy of the day is weight. I swear, I am getting flames because I advocate personal responsibility. If you do not have a medical condition to the contrary, you should be able to lose weight if you want to by cutting calorie intake and increasing exercise.
I don't think any people should lose weight if they are happy with themselves.
However, in the world as I would make it, you must own your decision. If you want to lose weight and diet and exercise would do it for you then please don't complain if you don't do any of the work and don't reap any of the benefits. In this instance, you have obviously made the decision to stay at your current weight, (or even gain some if you are not careful), and you really must own that decision.
I go to the gym less often than I thought I would when I started out. I go at least once every two days in the school week. At most, I go every day for four days, then a break of three over Friday and the weekend. For 20 minutes a day, I am on the weight machines, and in slightly over two and a half months I've dropped 15 pounds and gone from size 10 pants to size 6. This isn't for everyone, and will become more difficult when school is out for the summer, but 20 minutes out of your routine at any time of the day isn't an imposition for many people, they just don't do it.
Also I eat better than I used to. I have started putting things back on the shelf at the store, and I take smaller portions of dinner. I have oatmeal or a small bowl of cereal for breakfast. I eat more fruit and drink more water. I eat what I'm comfortable with, and don't take more than I need. Self control and personal responsibility people...I'm tellin' ya!
